The famous saying, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade” may have given many souls the wrong impression about this very versatile ingredient.
Not only can lemons be used in a variety of recipes, but they also have a ton of other uses for their cleansing and nourishing properties.
So when life gives you lemons, try these incredibly easy recipes.
Grease a baking dish.
Beat sugar and butter in mixing bowl until light and fluffy, stir in eggs and vanilla extract.
Sift the flour and baking powder into a separate bowl, then add to the creamed mixture.
Add the milk, lemon juice, lemon zest and mix to obtain a smooth paste.
Pour the batter into a cake tin and bake for about 35 to 40 minutes.
Chickpea and lemon salad
Coat the chickpeas with olive oil, garlic, cumin, chili powder and turmeric and mix. Roast in the oven until crispy.
Season the broccolini with olive oil and sea salt. In a grill pan, brown the broccolini with the halved lemons.
For the vinaigrette, squeeze the charred lemon juice into a little olive oil. Add mint, spring onions, salt and pepper.
Pour the dressing over the broccolini and chickpeas.
Preheat your oven to 175 degrees Celsius. Take the cake mix, butter, cereal and eggs and make a batter.
Make small balls.
Place each ball well apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake until cookies are golden brown.
Let the cookies cool a little, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Broccoli risotto with lemon and cream
Heat the olive oil and butter. Add the onions and the garlic, cook a little.
Now add the rice, mix and then add a little white wine and lemon juice.
Wait for the wine to evaporate completely before adding the chicken broth.
Repeat this process twice, stirring continuously.
Add the cream and cook for five minutes.
Add broccoli, chives and Parmesan. Season as desired.
Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
Combine all-purpose flour, salt, pepper and chili powder and coat the wings. Cook for 15 minutes.
Now take soy sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest and garlic.
Coat both sides of the chicken wings with the sauce above and cook for another 20-25 minutes.
